PLACES TO VIST IN BENIN REPUBLIC

In West Africa there are so many tourist attraction from Nigeria to Ghana to Cameroon and so many others but the one that I feel is underestimated is Benin republics. And if you are now looking for a neighboring country to visit in west Africa I think Benin republic is the best view for now though there tourism is not yet strong but its upcoming and there is so much to explore about the cities and the country in whole; you will experience the food, the culture and the country in a whole. Looking forward to visiting Benin, there are 3 modes of transportation you can use which are the road which is cheap but takes so much of your time especially if you are visiting from Nigeria, the Air which is the fastest but the most expensive and finally the water which is nearly cheap and which most people overlook.

Most tourist have the first impression that the city of Cotonou is a clean and the organization of transport, infrastructure and the town planning is one of a kind. The major and cheapest means of transportation in Cotonou is the bikes known as Kekeno in Benin republic and Okada in Nigeria, and most people speak French and some others speak Fon, Yoruba and other native dialects but the official language is French. Speaking of culture food in Benin is based on culture, though they have international cuisines they still cherish their culture the most; but all you need to know is that food in Benin republic is not expensive neither is it cheap but according to your pocket you eat what you can afford. Now that we know about the price of food next up for any tourist is the accommodation or hotel to lodge in for the duration of time you will stay.

On your  arrival to Benin republic you need to find a shelter, most people will consider staying in five star hotels which are even more conducive than their houses but more expensive than their income, and its same in Benin; the cost of lodging a five star hotel is . And if you can’t afford that there are lots of affordable hotels that will surely be comforting with fulltime electricity and quietness and serenity for everyone liking. In most hotels in Benin there are rooftops and you will see lounges and most hotels have Wi-Fi for their customers and most rooms have beautiful views and balconies and great waiters service and never forget what all standard hotels should have which is swimming pools, and after that the food served both in hotels and out of hotels are explicit.

Apart from the food served in the hotels, another type of food celebrated in a Benin is the pastries, unlike normal foods pastries are high consumed in Benin republic specifically the breads; they have different species of bread and at a very affordable price everyone that has visited Benin republic before will share his or her view about the breads, but the mazing facts is that the bread are richly available and it’s like in Paris where bread consumption is rampant. Now unto other foods, amidst the foreign dishes Benin republics rice and beans called Atase has a very good reputation and it so delicious, it is popular known and widely sell in Benin, it is eaten with stew or the onion sauce that’s also not to be under rated, and the proteins include fish, chicken, turkey, sausage and more. They are so many other local dishes that are celebrated and enjoy in Benin but this is just a crumb out of the pencil of an artist.

Talking about artist, there is a wall called the graffiti wall located in Benin which is the longest wall of art in west Africa where different artist from different countries come and design the wall both from and outside Africa, the reason behind the painting of the wall is to the honour of Dahomey kingdom and it’s also a tourist attraction because is just the place for snapping pictures and shooting skits for different social media platforms. There some tourist attraction in the honour of Dahomey kingdom, one of this is the python temple in Ouida. Ouida is city of great history and also its rich in culture and religion, the history behind this city is nothing far from the point where slaves were taken offshore to Europe it has the tracks and some of the chains use to capture the slaves for trade before civilization; its known to the extend that it was featured in the movie the woman king which portray the strengths of the women amazons the women amazons were female soldiers who fought to protect their country from the Frenchmen who came for slave trade; this is a great history that is cherish in Benin and so many people tend to find more about it quarterly. But the tourist attraction in honour of the amazons is the sculpture of the woman king. And now to the religions that are practiced in Ouida which is majorly voodoo and the worship of snakes in the snake temple. This temple welcomes tourist to share their beliefs to the world. And that neighborhood snakes are not killed or eaten because it is punishable by law and that alone makes it interesting.

Babsdock which is a very beautiful restaurant and is very good for first time tourist, the history behind it is that some foreigners came and they established that restaurant in the lake where you pass through mangroves to get there is just like passing through a tunnel and it’s very attractive you should visit. Benin has so many lakes and beaches and its really clean and also siren. They also uphold there culture to a very high esteem which is also interesting. There some other attractive place to visit like; Casa del papa, Nokoue the largest lake village in the world, Nature luxury lodge and the Djeghadji salt village. But for you to enjoy Benin to its fullest you need a very good planning and budgeting.
